He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Medical College, where he received his M.D., and his P.H.D. he received, in Pharmacology/Toxicology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, & board certified in Medical Toxicology. He was a Professor of pharmacology & toxicology at the University of California, Davis, the University of California, Los Angeles, and the Wisconsin Medical College. He served for 7 years as a Regional Medical Officer for the Pacific Region of the Food and Drug Administration. He is a pharmacologist who has been actively involved in the development of new drugs throughout his career.
